Princess Diana was the first breaking news story I remember, but I was younger than you.
Columbine obviously stunned me, but like you I became desensitized to subsequent shootings. Sandy Hook was the last shooting that really shook me up (and still does today). I can't help that even the bigger shootings like Orlando and Vegas just seem to blend in with all the others.
