The US Open sure brings out the Serena meltdowns. I just can't believe she was trying to convince everyone that the blatant coaching we saw wasn't blatant coaching. Yes, like other selectively enforced rules it's one of those things that happens a lot and doesn't get called, but it's also not always as blatant as it was yesterday. Perhaps the game penalty was a bit harsh, but you could also tell Serena wasn't letting it go until she totally melted down, so she probably would have earned it eventually anyway.

But mostly you feel for Osaka, the women's game desperately needs younger players to step up, she steps up, and her moment is totally ruined. The US Open crowd has been a disgrace for years going back to their treatment of Novak in the Federer matches, so no shocker they disgraced themselves again.
