I used to follow this guy on yahoo sports canada who would publish weekly TV sports ratings for Canada.
Formula 1 which is the number 1 viewed sports in the world with like 400 million viewers a race only draws 150,000 viewers in Canada. CFL telecasts average around 500,000 viewers a game.
