The Jets end up with not a lot of cap space for long term 6M + deals.

They have Trouba, Morrissey, Laine and Connor that would get a 6x6 with some team today.

The Jets have 27 M available next year with only 11 players signed.

I would expect that the Jets pick 1 or maybe 2 of the big 4 to sign long term and give the other 2/3 bridge contracts.

Trouba one more year of controlled salary
Morrissey 4 more years of controlled salary
Laine / Connor 5 more years of controlled salary.

The last 2 years being subject to arbitration.

That is a pretty big window.

When they get to the last year of controlled salary the Jets will be forced to trade these guys... Next year for Trouba.

It is hard to imagine what sort of trade value these guys will have in 3 years.
