meh. They offered him a 70m deal with 33m in the first two years or so, I'd say that was quite an offer for a running back. Now there's different reports as to how much guaranteed money was in there, but still, that would have been a big commitment to a running back. Bell always says he wants to be paid like a 1RB and 2WR combined, I don't see how that is smart GMing in a cap league. People can point to Gurley and his contract, but he's younger with less mileage and he doesn't come with the injury and marijuana concerns either.
People here argue that signing Mack to that contract was a mistake. I'd argue that I'd much rather overpay a pass rusher than a running back.
