If there wasn't they probably would have signed a free agent backup or traded for one by now, instead of hoping a backup becomes available via waivers or trade before the season starts.
The only way they look at acquiring a backup goalie after training camp is:
a) management doesn't like what they see in camp
b) injury
c) a young goaltender that they believe has #1 starter potential in the next year or two becomes available

That's not a plan at all (unless you are the Oilers) which leads me to believe management has faith in the two goaltenders. In the case of Gillies they really have to because they have a lot of time invested in him.
