I don't see next year as a problem at all. Sources of cap space at their disposal, in order of likelihood IMO:
1) the cap will go up, probably $2 - $3M (as usual)
2) Smith, as a 37 year old UFA, re-signs for significantly less (maybe $2.5-3M range?)
3) Stone - by next year, Andersson and/or Vlaimaki have (hopefully) replaced him
4) Frolik - if Bennett takes a big step and needs to get paid, then Frolik becomes expendable (if Bennett doesn't take a big step, they won't need to move Frolik, so it works either way)
Lots of options.
