Once you own a MAC it will stay in that state until it dies, you can't update it, you have to buy a completely new machine. MACs work on just the one hardware platform. Easy to streamline your code with only one set of hardware variables.

Why is it they never bring up gaming on these ads? If all you do is surf and play music get a MAC. IF you want to work in business or game or be able to build your own machine, or hot rod your existing machine get a PC.
That's the current state of things, but it could easily change. PC's have had year of advantage in the office and gaming world and it will take time for Mac to break into those markets. This doesn't mean it won't happen though.

I think the main reason the working world uses PCs is because everyone knows how to use them. It's easy for most new employees to adapt since they've been using PCs for years. That doesn't make them better, just easy.
As more and more make the switch to Mac, businesses will change as well.

As for gaming, I don't know enough about it, but I would think some of the things that make Macs great for graphic design, could also make them great for Games.
