What he’s saying is that if the other team is breaking the rules, and the refs aren’t doing anything, then there’s nothing he can do. That it’s “part of the game”. That if the offender won’t fight, he can’t do anything.
If someone was doing a similar thing to a Duck, do you think Kesler/Bieksa/Manson/whoever would have said the same thing? Nope, they would have forced the offending player to answer for it on the ice, whether they were willing to fight or not. Team unity.
