Wheeler had 21 fewer goals than Laine. Laine has had a shooting percentage of 17 and 18 percent in his two seasons. He has better possession metrics. Laine being as high as he is, in particularly higher than Wheeler is more than justified even if you believe that part of their reasoning was based on his potential.
