The upside of a multi-city bid is (I assume) all costs are spread out evenly among the cities, which is a big factor given they will most likely blow the budget
The downside is that Vancouver/Whistler are not even close to Calgary so most would be looking at flights instead of driving if they wanted to see multiple events in different cities
