The Avs needed a hero to keep their streak alive, they have on in Joe Thornton. Captain Joe scored one and set-up the other as the Avs beat the Canadiens 2-1 Friday night to go 10 games unbeaten and win their 7th straight.

Trailing 1-0 in the second period Colorado scored twice in the 2nd through Thronton and Radivojevic with Nylander helping on both goals as the Avs solidified their unlikely position on top of the conference.

Roman Turek was deservedly the first star, winning his 3rd game in as many nights as Colorado joined the more predictable pair of Ottawa and Washington at the top of the CPHL tree on 22 points.
