Whenever a wiz bang shaky cam action scene comes up in a movie these days, I don't enjoy them. I know what the outcome is, becuase the stories are dull and predictable, so I suffer through 5 minutes, not giving a crap about what is going on, waiting for them to get to the point.
A good example of this was near the end of the most recent one. Oo, look, they are tumbling through space, and I can't keep track of anything. Oh good, this goes on for 10 minutes. We know Kirk isn't going to die and it's near the end of the movie, so obviously the bad guy is going to get it. I don't need 10 minutes of back and forth to get to that.
I'm fine with special effects driving plot, but scenes like this don't drive it, they are a speed bump.
