Earlier this year when he was keeping "Russel Martins bat" in the line up..... He was hitting in the mid 100's. Same with the bullpen, same guys no matter what. Tepera has blown how may saves in the last month? The line up is garbage and Gibbons is useless.
Fair enough, I see things completely differently. I see a team that lost Sanchez, Donaldson, Tulowitzki and Osuna for the basically the entire season and somehow has kept this team somewhat competitive. You can debate tactics here and there but really he sets the line up, and manages the bullpen and the rest is really left out of his hands. You said it yourself, the line up is garbage, Tony Larussa wouldn't be able to get much more out of this line up.

Tepera was good against the Mariners two games ago, he went with him again to keep Giles ready for the ninth. He walked the 2nd best player in the league and then gave up a HR to the MLB leader in home runs, i'm sure it's happened to a lot of pitchers, not sure how that's on Gibbons.

I like Gibbons, he's part of a dying breed of old school style of managers. I like his quotes, his demeanour in the dugout makes me laugh, the players love him, he stands up for his players, I think he manages the bullpen fairly well and he managed the team to two ALCS championships. I doubt he's back next season, so personally I am going to enjoy watching him manage the Jays these last two months.
