The single biggest focus on cap management should be contracts on their core players as they are the life blood and Treliving has been almost Lamourello like in getting key players in under market.
Part of that comes with timing too as Giordano, Gaudreau and Monahan all got done before McDavid and Draisaitl's contracts mucked the league up.
