We did well this summer plugging a lot of holes, and cutting out statistical anchors on the team.
That said, the one area that has kept this team as an also-ran is goaltending. Smith is great if he's healthy, and that "if" will get bigger every year. Yes, last year's injury was a fluke, but the inability of any tender in the system to step up was also a problem.
Going back to Hiller and Ramo - yikes, it's a black hole for Calgary. That said, Smith was an attempt to address it, and our current Tending prospects are not without merit.
Went with a 4 on the basis of this summer.
