Oh man, that is likely why Canadian markets are harder on players. I doubt this gets more than 3 paragraph's in a paper in Dallas if this was a Dallas Stars player being bought out.

You can't fault players for the contracts they sign...who wouldn't. The Flames over valued Brouwer based on him having a pretty decent playoff with the Blues. As many mention, after that injury early in the first year he struggled to get back on track. Than add in that even in the last two years the game looks to be moving towards skating and speed, and the guys like Brouwer who are slowing down, are losing their place.
