I specifically pointed out this item in the instructions.
I know you didn't do it on purpose but I don't see how we can set that as a rule, with a clear outcome attached to it (offers are voided) and then simply ignore it?

I would say that rule is in place to prevent GMs from stashing high-salary players in the AHL freeing up cap space for them to bid on UFAs. Which is not the case here.
I moved him to AHL and beside his salary it said (10%) which is the same as all my other contracts down there and I thought nothing more of it.
I think most GMs here don’t know 100% of the rules for this game, I’m still relatively new (only been playing for 2 years) and clearly I can misinterpreted the rules sometimes. There’s quite a lot to understand and this wasn’t an intentional abuse of the rules. However, I think this does discourages GMs (especially new ones) from reaching out to the Commissioners for clarifications and questions.
I had $11.34 in cap at the time of the bidding, my total bids were $10.8, so with Lack (1.5) up I would have had to decrease one of my bids. No one else bid on Steen and it seems unlikely I would have lost to Carolina’s 3year x $1.0 bid for Letang.
