What an outstanding career. Iginla will always be my favourite player ever. Such a great all around hockey talent and a great person.
Most of my Saddledome memories involve Iginla in some way. I was in the Dome toilets when he scored his first ever goal and was also at the game against Tampa where he broke the Flames scoring record but the team forgot defence.
I would also like to tell a story about a good friend of mine who won a road trip with the Flames to Edmonton and got to spend time in the dressing room before and after the game. All Flames players were polite and acknowledged him however two players above and beyond to make him feel welcome answering all his questions, taking photos, and signing autographs. Who were those two players you might ask? Veteran Ronnie Stern and rookie Jarome freakin Iginla.
