I assume Hanifin’s contract will be signed next week one way or another, given that the decision to act on the buy-out is dependent on what kind of contract you are anticipating from Hanifin.

I think they can negotiate both a long term deal and a bridge all this week. Keep the Brouwer bullet in the chamber and then make the best decision for the organization when the buzzer sounds.
1. Bridge because you don't want Brouwer's cap hit in years three and four
2. Buyout because the team feels they will get value in Hanifin in getting him done now.
One is a known $1.5M per season in years three and four.
Does Hanifin coming off a bridge get $3M more in year four and beyond?
