Try 14 years. He's the best backup we've had since Roman Turek in 2004, unless you count the Hiller/Ramo duo when they both had good season (but that was known as a tandem since the start).
In terms of having a clear #1 G who plays the bulk of the games and having a reliable backup, IMO Rittch been the best we've had since Kipper's 1st season. As sad as it is, Roman Turek was the last truly good backup we had.
