The difference is, the Chargers have playmakers that could step up for Merriman when he was out, and a strong secondary to rely on as well. The Saints IMO have neither of these things. Thomas has been our defensive MVP IMO, and the pressure the front four, led by him have gotten on the QB this year has helped mask our weak secondary. If DE Will Smith is out as well, that is going to cause real problems for us on D, especially with a hot QB like Romo coming into this one.
Add to that Colston and Horn most likely out, and Im not too confident for this game. I think the Saints have the ability to win this game, but its just unfortunate its coming at a time when we're so depleted, combined with the fact the Cowboys have zero injuries; rare this late in the year.
Oh well, at least the Panthers are losing. A win by the Saints would all but sew up the division for New Orleans tonight.
