For as many statisticians that there are on this site, an outlier year quantifying a player as best in the league is a pretty shallow argument.

Jagr did that in 2000.

He followed that up with seasons of 79,77, 45 and 29 points. He then left North America.

So no, in early 2000's no one considered Jagr the best player in the world anymore. If you want to argue from 95-2000, I agree he probably was.

So again, instead of throwing out one liners, or a single season (As you don't want Flames fans using Iginla's single season), please let us know who you think was the best player from 2000-2005 in the NHL.

I'm not saying Iginla is the answer, but it certainly isnt Jagr.
