I doubt it. Brouwer actually didn't have as much PP time as people think - he was completely off of it for much of the season, and on the second unit for the vast majority of the other time. But more than that, nothing in Mangiapane's game showed me that he had much going on. He played a fairly timid and uncreative game.
Now - will Mangiapane be better going forward? Quite possibly. If he shows at all well in camp, I'm happy for him to take Brouwer's spot. Or even if there's not much of a difference and Treliving can use the cap room.
That said, I expect there to be only fourth line spots available (I can't see Frolik dropping to the fourth line), and so the question is who is better at that role? Is Mangiapane better off there or in Stockton?
