Not what I'm talking about. Those jerseys have always had black numbers but the first iteration of the namebar was black letters with a white outline. That lasted twelve(?) games until they were switched to white letters with a black outline.
The two replica jerseys shown above were done incorrectly because they used the font used for the back numbers on the sleeves as well. The sleeve fonts are a lighter weight which allows for a thicker white outline on the reds and a thicker gold outline on the whites. The Martin Gelinas jersey above has the correct sleeve numbers.
