Yeah I think positive reinforcement is invaluable especially from those within his inner circle. A lot of people are not sorry or not sincere in their apologies so when someone is actually sincere and has made positive changes it should be recognized. Life is about continual improvement and maturity and every change for the better is worthy of celebration. Reputation is based on opinions held by others that may not know him and can be largely worthless as there's going to be people that never give Hader the benefit of the doubt so not exactly a great source of feedback.

I don't agree with the fans cheering in this case because of the optics but it's hard to discern their motives. Are some of them racist and just supporting his past? Are some supporting that he's a changed/changing man? Are some simply tired of outrage culture and simply letting people know that enough is enough? I would imagine a combination of all of them.
