I also wouldn't be shocked if Kawhi is the first domino in a larger plan for Masai.
I'm fine with one and done if that's it. But MAYBE...just maybe there is a bigger play here to build a compelling case for Leonard to stay.
They still have pieces that could bring in another significant player. Masai is as capable as any NBA executive to shrewdly manage the cap and creatively build a roster conducive to accommodating multiple stars.
It's not the most likely of outcomes, I just wouldn't put it past him. If anyone is capable to pull this off, he is.
