That was always the issue with the X-Men universe. A couple of great movies, followed by an absolute whiff.

I agree though. DOFP was very well reviewed. Logan was nominated at the academy awards for best adapted screenplay ffs. It's also one of the highest grossing r rated films of all time.

There most likely is a reboot on the way though, regardless of takeover. Logan was clearly a goodbye film to Hugh Jackman. The new reboot lasts as long as MacAvoy and Fassbender stay interested.
