I'm a big Springsteen band. When I was younger me and a bunch of friends used to get together in his basement and jam, just for fun.

We'd play Paranoid because the base line was fun, easy and you could really act out doing it. We'd play a lot of just fun songs, like The Hooters "And they danced". We tried some Springsteen, but it always kind of alluded us, I mean we could play the music and do a good job, and Springsteen was fun to play, but the guy that volunteered to do the singing, just couldn't get the tortured emotion that Springsteen so easily does in everything, even his "Fun songs" like growing up, dancing in the dark, Cadillac Ranch and working on the highway.

In fact the only song of the Bosses that he could sing was "Hungry Heart" which we had our girlfriends at the time singing the opening lines

"I had a wife and kids in Baltimore Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a River that don't know where its flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going

Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hung hung hungry heart"

Then you'd start playing.

I love that song live, and I've seen a lot of bar bands play it and just do it really well.
