Edit : this was just an example of a similar dive. Not the actual cave. Narrowest point is 15 inches though

Without sounding completely stupid why in hell did they go in to a cave with a 15 inch opening in the first place?

I mean 15 inches is 15 inches regardless if it's under water or not...no?
