there's plenty of people that like this signing, generally... should have it been a little less money or one less year? sure.
but its not an anchor type of contract...if the internet is to be believed Ryan actually left money on the table to come to calgary...its the same dollars and role as stajan, but with a higher salary cap...so less % than Stajan's was.
unfortunately, this is what teams do on UFA day, especially if they haven't be developing talent internally or have been trading away draft picks.
