People are too quick to judge, especially as a rumour.
If it's 3M AAV for 2 years, it's an amazing contract for a player capable of playing up the lineup (top line on both Edmonton and Anaheim) while bringing in toughness. And, while not the most succesfful, a big body to play on the PP while Peters loves his four forward units.
If it's 6M AAV for 7 years, it's a disaster bringing in a player who's been propped up but not only McDavid but Getzlaf and Perry before him and will be older than 35 by the time the contract is over.
But it's somewhere in between and that's what's going to make or break this being a good signing or a bad one.
