The guy is not a top line forward but he’s a capable middle 6 forward, that is a RH shot, and an elite face off guy. All holes this team needed to fill.
It’s also been proven that he was clearly played like a 3rd liner that got 2nd unit power play time in Carolina and wasn’t holding back any younger players. So this crap you keep spewing about Peters playing favourites is made up.
Sure I’d love to have signed Tavares but that wasn’t happening, even though this signing isn’t high profile it still does help fill some holes on our roster and is pretty low risk at 3 years.

You wouldn't want that Tavares anyways. He's just a coaches favourite, getting 19:56 of ice time, putting up 0.51 p/min.
