I never "claimed that the only way anyone could have such an opinion was due to not playing hockey beyond bantam". I did say your ridiculous "A tough is never a deterrent. It’s just a fabricated illusion fans make up" comment was spoken like someone who has never played past bantam. This was not a personal attack and i apologize if it came across that way, I said this because people who have played hockey at a higher level knows this is just simply not true. Deterrents are visible everywhere from the pack leader being the biggest animal to countries arms races. This isn't my opinion this is a way of life and hockey is no different, we could fill this thread to 60 pages giving examples of how intimidation and threat are major motivators in peoples actions and responses.

There ya go, there is a fact in your argument because those teams were exactly what you said they were I fully agree. You used also in that sentence so I'm glad you agree that they also had a deterrent. Engelland was a tough player and i really liked him as a flame but I don't think many people would put him and Reaves or Wilson in the same category. They toss their bodies and get in the face of the other teams and their main skill set. Engelland stepped up when he was required to, he didn't go looking for it.

But I mean I suppose if I had played high level hockey I’d know that Reaves could keep Brodie from getting a concussion, Gaudreau a broken finger and even multiple concussions for Crosby.
No one in the entire thread said any of that, Not even close. No one said that the Flames would be a Stanley Cup contender by adding him nor that any injuries would have been negated by having him. I like a discussion as much as the next guy but when the person on the other end is making grand exaggerations, moving the goal posts and completely taking the responses out of context is no longer a discussion its a rant.
