Calgary lacks a tonne of toughness. We have some gritty players but no deterrent on the team.
I dont want a goon on this team. I want a hockey player. Reaves does not fight much. He goes out on a regular shift and hits people. Reaves does not fight alot because people dont want to fight him.
Hathaway tries to do what Reaves does. It does not work bless his heart. Yet I guy backed by Reaves plays a lot tougher.
I would like to see Reaves here. Our players will play more confident with this guy in the line up. That creates offense.
People talk about intangibles with a player all the time. Brouwer Stajan, they did nothing for this team last year. Reaves has intangibles in spades. He scares the hell out of people!
You gonna slash Johnny and risk this guy coming after you? Or a teammate.
He does not have to fight to be effective. Probably the best in the league at that. Yet he is also one hell of a nightmare bodychecking people. Our players normally get hurt checking the other team cleanly. Reaves has averaged 73.4 games per year playing on good teams for 5 years.
I love the player. I think he is exactly what this team needs. Will let all our players play tougher. We will over pay for this.
Does he add depth scoring? No. Top three lines will probably score more though.
Tired of Mike Smith trying to be the tough guy on the team. Tanner Glass getting his clock cleaned, Lomberg being destroyed, and Hathaway losing every fight.
Signing Reaves probably cuts the amount of fights in half. Players will be allowed to play their game. If not allowed too, the other team gets to meet Reaves.
I want this guy on my team.
