More recently, there was talk that the negotiations on the LeBreton Flats development have stalled and Melnyk was suggesting that he might pull out if things don't pick up soon. That was likely just an empty threat, but if he starts getting serious about selling the team to Laliberté, the threat to move would have to be taken more seriously.
Laliberté owns a massive house outside of Montreal, so he might prefer to keep the team in Ottawa anyway.
