I get the sheltered part but the education just seems wrong. From what I've seen the curriculum is the same but with smaller classes and more personal time.
Most importantly the ability to fire bad teachers, and kick out problem kids. That's a gigantic advantage.
I'm too cheap to pay for private school but I know people that use them. They said that several kindergarten students were told they weren't going to be accepted into grade 1. Dropping the 5-10% most troublesome students must do wonders for class structure while the public school gets stuck with more and more each year.
