Yup - the guy seemed to be a nice guy away from the rink and would always be present at charity events, etc.
I personally don't think it was really off ice "character" issues for the reason that Dougie was moved... I still think it was a lack of trust in the "on-ice" capabilities of the players.
As elite of a pairing as Giordano-Hamilton were this organization still didn't like his defensive zone play, didn't trust him away from Gio, and wouldn't put him as the 1D on the PP or 3v3.
That is what I think was frustrating Dougie and in the end I think he may have not demanded a trade but said that he would prefer / be open to one.
I personally just think it was time for the this leadership group and Dougie to split - the on ice style of play just never fit with what this GM and coaching staff(s) wanted.
