I simply have very little faith in Treliving when it comes to signing veteran UFA:s. The track record isn't great.
Plus Ryans situations ticks all the boxes for "bubble player inflating his points because of a good situation on a bad team".
So I agree it seems like a high risk - low reward signing. You're not likely to get more than what you pay for, but there's a really good chance the short stint in Carolina was an anomaly and not repeatable.
I mean, the most likely reason someone plays years without a single game in the NHL is because he's not actually very good.
