Seems like a terrible idea considering as a FA he will be getting some serious term as well. The Flames just cycled out an aging, $4M 4th line center and we're going to right back down the same road?
Interesting that some of the best teams in the league find ways to pay 4th line centers $1-1.5M/Year but the Flames seem to need to bring in another overused player with inflated stats to fill the role.
Anything over $1.5/ 2 years would be a big mistake. Invest those dollars in a top six winger slot.
