The only thing these two players have in common is that they are over 30 and will be signing a UFA contract.
Just because Brouwer was a bad signing doesn't mean every UFA from now until the end of time will also be a bad signing.
If they sign Ryan to a 4 year deal for $4.5 million per, I will not be happy, but that isn't very likely.
