Combine that with guys on the big club probably being frustrated by the team not having a chance to improve in that area, a "clog in the machine" so to speak. Freddie was given more than enough time show if he could stick. No question that was all about keeping Dougie happy.
Sorry, but that's nonsense.

Dougie took the high road. He was continually being baited into saying something negative and creating a bigger story. He didn't bite.
