I think I can breathe again. What a match.
The Germans were the clearly better team but still making a lot of the same mistakes defensively, again, basically playing with a back 2 and as we saw at the beginning they paid for it.
One of the worst games I think I've ever seen out of Tony Kroos but credit to him, he didnt sulk or quit he just kept at it.
And that winning goal was fantastic.
One of the only times I think I'd say that I think Low screwed up his subs along with his tactics and only World Class talent pushed them over the top.
Boateng was basically playing in midfield alternating with Rudiger, but losing Rudy and Draxler really dented the speed of this team.
And I'm not as pessimistic about Gomez as most apparently, I thought he provided a useful focal point and he distracted the Swedish CBs and it allowed Reus and Werner to generate width without always having to rely on Hector and Kimmich.
The last set of games in this group is going to be wild, you'd expect the Germans to pump the Koreans for as many goals as possible but the Sweden/Mexico game will be amazing, two good teams and its all on the line.
All 3 could realistically finish on 6 points.
But man oh man...the performance of the players, the tactics of the management, what is going on in this German team?
This is not how they played in qualifying, this is not how they normally play and where are the goals?
