I don't think Ferland is the type to get paid and quit. I just think he's a 1.5-2m player at best, and if you pay him more than that, he stops being valuable to the team. He doesn't drive his own line, and his battering ram style of play is too intense for a real person to sustain over six months plus playoffs.
Ferland is awesome. I hope he scores 30 in Carolina. He won't but I hope he does. And I hope he gets paid. He's a beauty. But whoever pays him is going to spend the rest of that contract trying to move it.
