I like the trade, which I see as improving the team now and having the potential to be a franchise changing trade down the line. Time will tell, but it's a good gamble.

We received players with better all around games now, who could be great players down the line. Top six is better with Lindholm in the mix than Ferland IMO and I don't see Hanifin as a significant downgrade on aything other than goals from D. That's a loss, for sure, but he probably improves the top 4 D defensively. We get younger, and correct me if I am wrong, but there are positive cap implications as well. Possibly, we may also have improved the character of the team.

And we did this by dealing an asset we have in abundance--a D prospect, and one that had a signing questionmark surrounding him. Again, time will tell if this deal was a good one, but this deal makes all kinds of sense to me and I am optimistic.
