I can see a lot of reasons why this trade was made....

If the core of this team realizes that Hamilton is not part of the solution they probably asked that he be moved. People that I know around the team say he was a bit of a flake and was an outcast. I started wondering about Hamilton when he was not selected to play in the U 23 team in last year‘s world cup. I think a lot of people around the league don’t like the energy brings to a room. Could be the reason Boston moved him as well.

Add in the fact that Ferland could command way more money than he’s worth next season and Fox showed no interest in signing in Calgary I think Tree did OK here.
