The Colorado Avalanche made it 6 wins and 9 unbeaten Thursday night as they toppled the Jackets 6-3. It was however a costly victory. Star right winger Alex Mogilny was injured early in the 3rd period and will miss 2-4 weeks of the Avs schedule. While Radivojevic will fill the gap he in turn leaves a gap needing plugged and may force the Avs in to a deal.

Back to the action on the night and it was the Jackets that took an early lead through Clark after just 34 seconds. Colorado hit back hard though, scoring 3 straight goals to leave the shocked Jackets trailing 3-1 after the first period. Colorado's top line picked up where they left off last night by combining for Joe Thornton to equalise on helpers from Mogilny and Nylander, followed five minutes later by a goal from Mogilny himself. Sedin and Beaudoin getting the assits on the go-ahead goal. Dan Cleary chipped in a 3rd late in the period with Sedin chalking up a second assist and Radivojevic also gettin in on the act. All first period goals were even strength.

The Jackets came roaring back in the second and midway through got 2 quick goals of their own. Dupuis and Madden scoring just 2 minutes apart to tie the game at 3. However the games defining moment came with just under 90 seconds to play in the period. With Colorado killing a penalty Beaudoin hustled the puck off of the BJ's and squeezed it to McLaren who set Thornton free for his 2nd of the night, the Avs taking a 4-3 lead in to the intermission on account of the short-handed marker.

The Avs proved their worth with the extra man in the 3rd, Trnka getting his 4th of the year on the power-play with Sedin and Radivojevic setting up the able defenseman to rifle home. The win was given a slightly more emphatic look late in the day as Radivojevic scored one himself from Sedin (his 4th helper of the night) and Aki Berg.

All in all a good nights work for Colorado as the streak continues.
