Isn't Hanifin just a young Hamilton? How much difference is there between Hanifin and Seth Jones when he was traded for Johansen? The kid was projected as a stud dman. He's proven himself an NHLer. Hasn't yet hit his prime or his peak.
Did something happen with Hanifin I'm not aware of? Cause he's been considered a future stud dman since before being drafted.
I'm finding it strange in this thread that some people don't seem to think Lindholm or Hanifin are extremely valuable commodities. Hanifin just scored 10 goals, 30+ points and only just turned 21. He's 6'3, skates like the wind. Like I said, is he not looking like a future Hamilton himself?
Can't really understand the reaction of being unbelievably pissed off if that was the trade. To me you'd be trading the slightly more established Hamilton for a kid who has exactly the same upside in Hanifin plus you'd be getting Lindholm on top of it who looks like a young top two line forward.
There's a disconnect here and I'm not sure if its because some people don't seem to value Lindholm/Hanifin or if some people seem to think Hamilton is one of the top young dmen in the game. Maybe a combination of both.
