I never had this done. I was planning on it though. Then my wife needed operation to take care of scarring from ovarian cysts and they decided that tying her tubes would also help with her problems with cysts. That was like my get out of jail free card right there.
I was nervous to take the steps because of a previous boss' experience with the procedure. It took him two weeks to recover. He had it on Thursday, didn't come to work at all for the next week, and then the week after that he was wearing baggy track pants and not moving very well. He had a lot of pain that didn't go away for a long time. Obviously he is the exception to the rule, but seeing what he was experiencing really made me nervous about the procedure.
Now for funny story time. A friend had this done on a Wednesday. Took the next two days off of work and returned to work on Monday. At that time he drove truck around town making deliveries to businesses. His first stop on Monday morning he hopped out of the truck as he normally does and suddenly remembered that he had to take it easy! It felt like we has kicked in the junk harder than any other time. He was doubled over on the ground, moaning in pain, and it was attracting quite a crowd. He said it was quite embarrassing to tell strangers "I'm okay, had a vasectomy last week and forgot that I shouldn't drop down from the truck." Other than that, his experience was good.
