Senators 3 Canadians 2
The Game was the Senator jump out to an Early 2 nothing led on goals by Varada and Jovonovksi. The 2 goals came 50 seconds apart.
Then a potentail disaster struck. Marty Turco went down hard on blatent trip by Brenden Shannahan. All that that was of course missed by the ref. It was determined that Turco should sit on the bench in order to not make things worse.
So in came Pasi Nurminen. The team responded by shutting down the Canadians for the rest of the period. The team buckled down and played a flawless 2nd period not allowing a single shot by the Canadians. the 3rd was another story.
Jason Smith scored what would be the Game winning goal on the PP while Modry sat in the box serving a double minor roughing.
It was after this that the Candians got things rolling again. Goals by Primeau and a Shanahan (on the PP) brought the Canadians to within a goal having fired 14 shots at the Senators Net. The Sens coach called a time out and calmed the guys down. after that the Senators shut the Candians the rest of the way for the win.
Turco was examined after the game as was deemed ok and ready to go if needed.
This the 2nd game that has been decided by 1 goal between the 2 clubs. so far the Senators hold the advantage in both games.
Next up a game VS the tough Sharks of San Jose.
